About 825 Arts

Since 2009, our dedicated coalition of board members, volunteers, staff, representatives, small business owners, neighbors, and young artists have worked to realize this mission with the purchase and the renovation of the historic Victoria Theater at 825 University Ave into a community arts center for all of Frogtown and Rondo.

A Night At The Victoria Cafe

✨ Travel back to the Roaring Twenties for a night you won’t forget! ✨
Join us for A Night at the Victoria Café, a prohibition-themed celebration that honors the rich, speakeasy-era history of 825 Arts — once a buzzing hotspot during the 1920s, now a vibrant community hub for creativity and connection in the Rondo and Frogtown neighborhoods.

This unforgettable evening will feature casino-style gamesfabulous prizeslive music, and a warm, welcoming crowd of art lovers, community members, and supporters. You’ll step into a space transformed with vintage flair and lively energy, all while championing the creative future we’re building together.

While we celebrate the past, this event also looks toward what’s ahead. Proceeds from the evening will directly support 825 Arts’ programming — including events like Rondo Double Dutch, our Frogtown Arts Festival, and so much more that brings joy, expression, and opportunity to our community.

Whether you’re drawn by the fun, the history, or the impact, we’d love for you to be part of this special night. WE can’t wait to welcome you!

Niizh

Just weeks before she’s meant to leave the reservation and head to college, Lenna Little’s future plans are sent into disarray when she experiences a meet-cute straight out of a teen rom-com fantasy. With her head and her heart at odds about leaving or staying, she looks for the signs all around her that might lead her down the right path. A love-letter to the joy of first romance, the vibrancy of reservation communities, and the joy of Indigenous family, Niizh is the inaugural production of Mni Giizhik Theatre Ensemble and features an all-Ojibwe cast, directed by Sequoia Hauck (White Earth Ojibwe/Hupa). Join us for the US premier of playwright Joelle Peters (Walpole Island First Nation) hilarious and heartfelt celebration of Ojibwe love stories May 9-18, 2025 at 825 Arts in St Paul, MN.
